What is an Eagle Project Coach?

An Eagle Project Coach is a mentor and a guide for Scouts who have reached Life Rank and seek to earn the Rank of Eagle. They provide assistance as requested by the Scout and also serve as a liaison between the District Eagle Committee and the Troop Leaders.  An ideal Eagle Project Coach would be someone who understands the Eagle Rank requirements, is active in Scouting, and is a good role model.  Eagle Project Coaches are a volunteer District Committee position and are trained by and work under the direction of the District Eagle Committee.

To be eligible for the training they must meet the following requirements:

  • Be currently registered in a scouting position.

  • Be current in Youth Protection Training.

  • Be available to consult with the Life Scouts during their project.

  • Attend an Eagle Project Coach training workshop.

After completing the workshop the District Eagle Review Chairs will add the trained Eagle Project Coach to their lists of available Coaches.  The Chairs will try to assign a Coach to every Eagle Project.
