Garden State Council Merit Badge Workshop

 

Garden State Council is happy to announce a bi-monthly merit badge program.

Here's What you need to know:

  • Bring blue cards signed by your unit leader for entry
  • You must attend both weekend sessions, if required (some badges only need one session using both periods) to earn the badge.
  • Class time: First period 8:30 -10:30 -- Second period 11-1
  • Cost is $20 and includes the sessions for that badge, snack and a drink.
  • Wear your scout uniform, unless directed otherwise. 
  • Parents/Class Assistants are welcomed and encouraged.
  • Prerequisites must be completed prior to session to complete badge
  • You must register online to attend. Sorry, NO walk-ins!

Architecture  Requirement 1a. Tour your community and list the different building types you see. Try to identify buildings (not necessarily those same building “types”) with a specific period of history or a style of architecture. Make a sketch of the building you most admire.

 Requirement 1b.  Select an architectural achievement that has had a major impact on society. Using resources such as the internet (with parent permission), books and magazines, find out how this achievement  has influenced the world today.

Engineering

Requirement 2.  Read about the building of the Panama canal, Hoover Dam, or Manhattan Project.  Bring in notes

Requirement 6a. Bring in a list of 10 electronic items from your house.  It must include the amperage and volt rating (get both input and output values if available).
